A Geometry of the Sky

A Geometry of the Sky reinterprets the Dominion Land Survey and the grid pattern of roads common across the Prairies, including here in Lethbridge. It takes a two-dimensional grid and turns it into a three-dimensional lattice. The resulting form has depth and open space. It filters light and frames views of the city and southern Alberta Skies.

The shadows cast on the floor are important, too. Watching them slowly change throughout the day and over the year is an invitation to reflect on the history of this place and the things that condition our day-to-day life.
